RUN THIS TOWN

RUN THIS TOWN

Project summary :

More Than Basketball brought us in to document the 2018-19 Wilson High School Tigers, a team loaded with future Division I talent chasing history in Washington, D.C. This wasn’t just any roster. Jay Heath was a Boston College signee who’d go on to play at Arizona State and Georgetown. Twin towers Makhi and Makhel Mitchell were headed to Maryland as four-star recruits before eventually landing at Arkansas. Under head coach Angelo Hernandez, this group faced a brutal schedule that included matchups against Gonzaga, Georgetown Prep, and Riverdale Baptist, proving themselves against the best prep programs in the DMV before making their run at the DCIAA finals. We scheduled, shot, edited, and delivered a 10-episode docuseries that captured the full journey. The growth of young men on and off the court. The pressure of carrying expectations. The bond between coaches and players navigating a season together. Run This Town told the story of a program operating at its peak, with multiple future college stars wearing the same jersey at the same time.
